Customer Rating: Summary: Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows Comment: Totaly outdate. It states coverage from 1946 to PRESENT. Turns out it only covers up to 2002, 6 years behind times. No coverage of all the programs up to at least 2008, so it is virtually useless. How about advertising the "actual" years of coverage so as not to mislead the buyer.
I have had no useage of the product since I purchased it.

Customer Rating: Summary: Outstanding Reference Guide! Comment: I worked for a major television studio for over 20 years and I lost track of how many times I have used this book as a reference. It was invaluable to me in helping me to quickly get information for a project that I'd be working on. If I needed cast information, the years the show ran on a particular network, the time periods it aired in, the genre of the show, how a show ranked back in the old days, or even if I needed to check a Prime Time schedule from 30 or 40 years ago, it was all at my fingertips. I think the only piece of information that is missing is the number of episodes for each show but this is probably only helpful to those of us who work in the industry and use the book to help us in our jobs. I've met Tim Brooks (one of the authors) a few times over the years and would always ask him when the next edition would be coming out. I also asked him when this reference guide will be split up into two separate volumes since it was so large. I'm sure that day is coming soon if it hasn't already. If you want to learn about every network and cable television show ever produced, look no further.
Customer Rating: Summary: A fun reference to keep by the TV Comment: Although this is a great directory to refer to while you are watching TV, it also is fun to thumb through - so many great shows over the years. Very informative and wonderful for trivia buffs.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Complete History of Television Comment: This volume covers the history of television from its infancy to recent years. The book begins with a short essay on the history of television.
Most of the book is devoted to synposes of prime time television shows that were on for at least four weeks from the 1940s up through recent years. For each show, the cast is listed, and the dates of first and last telecast are given. The book lists the networks that shows appeared on and even lists the time slots each show appeared in during its life.
At the end of the book, there are several appendices. These appendices cover such topics as year-by-year prime time schedules for each day of the week for the major networks, Emmy Award winners, rankings of top-rated shows for each year based on ratings, and other information.
You will likely spend a lot of time browsing through this book the first time you open it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Book review Comment: This is an awesome book if you need to know anything about prime time TV
