Lindsay Lohan Back in Rehab

Lindsay Lohan runs back to rehab after being arrested for drunk driving, as or as we fashionably call it: DUI. The nearly 21-year-old actress crashed her Mercedes and was booked for suspicion of driving under the influence and was photographed slumped in the passenger seat of a friend’s car.

Lohan “admitted herself to an intensive medical rehabilitation facility” on Monday, according to a statement released by her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick. The statement added, “Because this is a medical matter, it is our hope that the press will appreciate the seriousness of the situation and respect the privacy of Lindsay as well as the other patients receiving treatment at the facility.”

This is Lohan’s second rehab stint this year. She said in January that she had checked into a rehabilitation center for substance abuse treatment.

And this from a girl who has said, “I always said I would die before I went to rehab.”

The case remains under investigation, McCann said. Lohan could face additional charges for leaving the scene, he said, adding “we would take into consideration that she was injured and transported to a hospital.”

Her preliminary court date is scheduled for Aug. 24.

Britney Spears: ‘I Hit Rock Bottom.’

Pop diva on a comeback trail, Britney Spears, wrote a long letter to her fans via her website in an attempt to explain herself and saying she “hit rock bottom” while caught up in her failed marriage and rehab.

“Recently, I was sent to a very humbling place called rehab. I truly hit rock bottom. Till this day I don’t think that it was alcohol or depression,” the 25-year-old pop star writes. “I was like a bad kid running around with ADD (attention deficit disorder).”

Spears completed a monthlong stay at a luxury Malibu rehabilitation treatment facility in March after a series of run-ins with the paparazzi that included a stop at a San Fernando Valley hair salon, where she was caught on video shearing her own locks. Other photos splashed across the Internet appeared to reveal Spears out partying wearing nothing underneath her short skirts and partying every night with equally troubled pals Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.

She also cited the spat with her ex-longtime manager who she claims was trying to direct her life.

“I think the whole problem was letting too many people into my life,” she continues. “You never know another person’s intentions or what another person wants. … I have had to cut so many people out of my life.”

Well, does that include her mother?

Lindsay Lohan Arrested for DUI

If things go really bad for Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton may have found the perfect cellmate. La Lohan was booked by police for possible DUI after after her convertible crashed on a curb, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine.

Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared the actress was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference.

Officers received a 911 call about the accident and arrested Lohan at the hospital for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, McCann said.

She was released from custody because she was admitted to the hospital, police said. But the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office where the actress could face more charges, including felonies. Her tentative arraignment date is Aug. 24.

Officers at the scene found a “usable amount” of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan was not carrying it.

In January Lindsay checked into a rehabilitation center for substance abuse treatment. Her publicist confirmed in December that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Paris Hilton Jail Time Cut Into Half

This just in: Paris Hilton‘s 45-day jail sentence was cut into half as prison officials cite “good behavior” on the part of the heiress. Don’t they give that reward while the person is already in jail?!

Authorities said that the hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a “special needs housing unit” at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

The said unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates.

Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior, officials also considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date.

Didn’t she arrive 10 minutes late in court? Oh, what fame and money can do…

Paris was ordered to report for jail by June 5.

Paris Hilton Mom Tells Fans To ‘Learn From This’

Paris Hilton’s mom, Kathy, has changed mood and tells young fans who look up to her daughter to learn from the misfortunes. Particularly the 45-day jail term given to Paris for unabashedly violating probation, driving drunk, and disrespecting the law.

“We can only hope that something positive will come from all of this. Hopefully, young people who look up to people like Paris will learn from this,” Hilton said in a statement read Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” by co-host Barbara Walters.

Although Walters commended Kathy for making strong statements, her co-View-er Elizabeth Hasselbeck disagreed. “You want to discipline your children before the criminal system does,” she said.

The California judge gave Paris until June 5 to report for jail. It was reported that the heiress has filed an appeal to overturn the sentence.

Kathy Hilton attracted attention both in and outside a Los Angeles courtroom earlier this month, laughing during a city prosecutor’s argument and telling reporters that her daughter’s sentence was “pathetic and disgusting!”, and mocking the judge by shouting: “May Ihave your autograph?”
