Neighbor Sues Leo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio was sued by his neighbor claiming the actor excavated the neighboring property without permission and damaged plants and hedges to build a basketball court at his home.
Ronald and Joan Linclau filed legal papers last week citing the construction weakened a hillside and left their deck and pool in danger of collapse. They are seeking at least $250,000 in damages.
DiCaprio “failed to exercise ordinary care … in making the excavations and failed to take reasonable precautions to sustain the adjoining land … in its natural state,” the suit claimed.
DiCaprio’s spokesman, Ken Sunshine, said the lawsuit “is totally without merit.”
The lawsuit claimed DiCaprio ignored warnings that he was trespassing on the property, located in the hills above Sunset Boulevard.

Ewan McGregor, Star Wars’ Obi Wan Kenobi, has set aside millions of dollars paycheck to perform Shakespeare on the London stage for minimum wage.
The 36-year-old star will earn $790 a week — standard minimum wage for actors in Britain — playing Shakespeare’s arch villain Iago in “Othello.”
McGregor was recruited for the role by Donmar Warehouse artistic director Michael Grandage, who worked with the actor on the musical “Guys and Dolls.” The production marks Grandage’s fifth anniversary as the acclaimed theater’s artistic director.
It opens on December 4 with Golden Globe nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor starring as Othello and Kelly Reilly as Desdemona.

The Terminator Will Be Back, But Minus Arnold

The popular movie franchise, Terminator, will be back for another trilogy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a nascent film company has acquired the franchise rights to the popular movie series from producers Mario Kassar and Andrew Vajna. The deal is said to be in the tens of millions of dollars.
The Halcyon Co., a privately financed firm, is planning to begin immediate preproduction on “Terminator 4,” with a target release in the first half of 2009. The script, by John Brancato and Michael Ferris, was part of the transaction.
No actor is yet aboard the project. And Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s appearance in the new trilogy is also bleak.
Halcyon is headed by advertising veteran Derek Anderson and “Cook-Off!” producer Victor Kubicek. The two pursued the “Terminator ” rights aggressively for several months, knowing that the series is one of the few recognizable properties out there not in the hands of a major studio. Halcyon also is concentrating on a merchandising and licensing push for the property.
The rights to “Terminator ” have changed hands several times.
Kassar acted as an executive producer for 1991′s “Terminator 2: Judgment day,” and he and Vajna acquired interests from Gale Anne Hurd — who produced the first one in 1984 and executive produced the second — when the duo made 2003′s “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.”

OJ Simpson Kicked Out of Restaurant
Filed Under Gossips | Leave a Comment
OJ Simpson was asked to leave an upscale steakhouse in Louisville by its owner the night before the Kentucky Derby because, the owner claimed, he is sickened by the attention Simpson still attracts.
“I didn’t want to serve him because of my convictions of what he’s done to those families,” Jeff Ruby said in a telephone interview Tuesday. “The way he continues to torture the lives of those families … with his behavior, attitude and conduct.”
Simpson, an NFL Football Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy winner, was found innocent in 1995 of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman but was found liable in a civil trial that followed.
Ruby who owns restaurants in Cincinnati, Louisville and Belterra, Indiana said Simpson, who was in town for the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, came in with a group of about 12 Friday night and was seated at a table in the back. A customer came up to Ruby and was “giddy” about seeing Simpson, Ruby said.
“I didn’t want that experience in my restaurant,” Ruby said, later adding that seeing Simpson get so much attention “makes me sick to my stomach.”
Simpson politely said he understood and then gathered his party to leave. Ruby said after Simpson left, people in the restaurant started applauding him. He said he has received about 100 positive e-mails since the incident.

Paris Hilton Goes to Jail

It won’t compare to a season of A Simple Life when Paris Hilton leaves all luxury to serve her 45-day jailsentence soon. The heiress was ordered until June 5 to report for detention at the California County Jail.
Hilton was reportedly “visibly shocked and tearful” when a judge imposed the sentence, later calling it “cruel and unwarranted.” News have emerged that she fired publicist, Eliot Mintz over this.
Unless her lawyers win an appeal, she will forsake her designer clothes, cell phone and other accouterments — along with her freedom and privacy — for an orange jumpsuit and a small, spartan cell with twin bunks.
“She’s going to be assigned a two-person cell, and most likely have another inmate in the cell with her,” Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said on Monday, adding Hilton, like all inmates, would be confined to her quarters 23 hours a day.
She will be allowed out of her cell once a day for an hour to shower, stretch her legs, use the telephone or watch television in a jailhouse day room. She will also will get three meals a day, all taken in her cell, but like the jail’s furnishings, nothing fancy — cereal or yogurt with fruit for breakfast, a sandwich or hamburger for lunch, and a hot meal such as chicken for dinner.
The cell — 8 feet wide by 12 feet deep, with an 8-foot (2.4 meter) ceiling — contains “two bunks, a table, a sink, a toilet and a sliver of a window.”
The jail’s schedule also will make it hard for Hilton to keep the late hours she is accustomed to. Breakfast is served between 6 and 7:30 a.m., and lights are turned out at 10 p.m.
