Lindsay Lohan on rehabLindsay Lohan runs back to rehab after being arrested for drunk driving, as or as we fashionably call it: DUI. The nearly 21-year-old actress crashed her Mercedes and was booked for suspicion of driving under the influence and was photographed slumped in the passenger seat of a friend’s car.

Lohan “admitted herself to an intensive medical rehabilitation facility” on Monday, according to a statement released by her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick. The statement added, “Because this is a medical matter, it is our hope that the press will appreciate the seriousness of the situation and respect the privacy of Lindsay as well as the other patients receiving treatment at the facility.”

This is Lohan’s second rehab stint this year. She said in January that she had checked into a rehabilitation center for substance abuse treatment.

And this from a girl who has said, “I always said I would die before I went to rehab.”

The case remains under investigation, McCann said. Lohan could face additional charges for leaving the scene, he said, adding “we would take into consideration that she was injured and transported to a hospital.”

Her preliminary court date is scheduled for Aug. 24.

Britney SpearsPop diva on a comeback trail, Britney Spears, wrote a long letter to her fans via her website in an attempt to explain herself and saying she “hit rock bottom” while caught up in her failed marriage and rehab.

“Recently, I was sent to a very humbling place called rehab. I truly hit rock bottom. Till this day I don’t think that it was alcohol or depression,” the 25-year-old pop star writes. “I was like a bad kid running around with ADD (attention deficit disorder).”

Spears completed a monthlong stay at a luxury Malibu rehabilitation treatment facility in March after a series of run-ins with the paparazzi that included a stop at a San Fernando Valley hair salon, where she was caught on video shearing her own locks. Other photos splashed across the Internet appeared to reveal Spears out partying wearing nothing underneath her short skirts and partying every night with equally troubled pals Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.

She also cited the spat with her ex-longtime manager who she claims was trying to direct her life.

“I think the whole problem was letting too many people into my life,” she continues. “You never know another person’s intentions or what another person wants. … I have had to cut so many people out of my life.”

Well, does that include her mother?

Lindsay Lohan Arrested for DUI

Lindsay Lohan DUIIf things go really bad for Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton may have found the perfect cellmate. La Lohan was booked by police for possible DUI after after her convertible crashed on a curb, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine.

Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared the actress was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference.

Officers received a 911 call about the accident and arrested Lohan at the hospital for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, McCann said.

She was released from custody because she was admitted to the hospital, police said. But the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office where the actress could face more charges, including felonies. Her tentative arraignment date is Aug. 24.

Officers at the scene found a “usable amount” of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan was not carrying it. 

In January Lindsay checked into a rehabilitation center for substance abuse treatment. Her publicist confirmed in December that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

The Georgia Rule actress who has time and again denied she drinks alcohol during her daily night-outs, had a rehab stint, and attending Alcoholics Anonymous, is celebrating her 21st birthday in Vegas and is rumored to have  Svedka vodka as her party’s sponsor.

The report is causing stir and much debate on whether an alcohol company should sponsor the starlet’s party at the Pure nightclub.

Lohan’s reps told the Daily News that they were “unaware of who is sponsoring Lindsay’s birthday, as I am not the one planning it.” What’s her mother Dina has to say about this? Or maybe she’ll be on the club’s red carpet interviewing Lindsay’s glittery guests for E!

In early May, Lohan’s hard-partying lifestyle made headlines once again, as a British tabloid published pictures that allegedly showed Lohan using cocaine with friends at a nightclub.

Jordin Sparks Is The New American Idol

American Idol winner Jordin SparksJordin Sparks captured wide audience votes to beat beat-boxing opponent Blake Lewis and become the youngest American Idol winner ever.

“Mom, Dad, I love you,” Sparks, 17 and the daughter of retired NFL player Phillippi Sparks, said tearfully after a bearhug from Lewis.

The Finals Night pulled out the stops and the stars, with Gwen Stefani, Tony Bennett, Bette Midler, Green Day and more singing.

The two-hour show opened with Lewis and Sparks dueting on the Beatles “I Saw Her Standing There,” followed quickly by a touring Stefani singing “4 in the Morning” via satellite from Massachusetts.

Midler took the stage as the show came toward its close, singing “The Wind Beneath My Wings.”

Hundreds of “American Idol” fans lined Hollywood Boulevard leading up to the theater before the show.

Despite the big night, Simon Cowell, couldn’t help takling about Melinda Doolittle and what wasn’t to be. “I’m pleased for the two of them,” Cowell said of Sparks and Lewis. “They’re nice kids. But I would have liked to have seen one of them up against the big singer.”
